Once or twice a year I take a guest out for a boat ride. Years ago they used to walk the trails of the Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge with their spouse before they passed away. Now approaching eighty years young, my boat rides offer a little more accessabilty to the Shiawassee Flats for them.

We had an incredible afternoon spotting a large beaver and a great horned owl. Of course we saw a few bald eagles. We went halfway to St. Charles and back, it was a great day.

If you look closely, you can see the suns rays. We watched the sun set like a movie unfold before us. With the high water we quickly covered a lot of distance, yet still had time to savor our surroundings...
