A Good Omen?
December 28th, 2009I saw bluebirds migrating through this weekend, pretty cool. Hopefully they are a sign of good things to come.I reinitiated my five minute workout program again this morning. I am already up to three minutes! Following will be some vacuum maneuvering and laundry hoisting.Later JR50 maintenance, then CR250 pondering, rounded out with some sledding hill of death runs. Hopefully after all that I'll have earned my dinner.
It is time to start marketing Johnny Panther Quests for the 2010 season. Anyone who has any suggestions on how I can make it more successful this year, send 'em my way. I scouted Mott Lake, and it is frozen with a few geese up river in the open water. My remote recon of the Cass River in Frankenmuth failed due to logistics, and my Saginaw River update has not been received yet.
Time to get back to my domestic aerobics, enjoy the day!
In the Bone Zone
December 27th, 2009
We got Tank a bone for Christmas. "Bud the Wonder Dog" would have eaten it in one sitting and then produced toxic emmissions the rest of the day. Tank on the other hand, tends to savor it for days. Obviously he was very appreciative of his gift.

Look at his dexterity!

A Very Special Birthday
December 22nd, 2009
Christmas is a time for us to really reflect on how beautiful life is, and how lucky we are. We have definitely enjoyed more financially stable, prosperous seasons. Comparatively speaking though, we're together, have water, heat, and are healthy. I've maintained some passions in my life, but family, friends, and the outdoors are what have gotten me here today.
All nighters in the garage working on my mistress of the dirt or ice have been replaced by playing with my kids. The sun is blinding as it reflects off the fresh snow, and I know I'll spend part of the afternoon sledding and hauling firewood out of the swamp. Being outside working up a heart pounding sweat takes me back to my roots. Setting goals, both short and long term, I have a renewed motivation to achieve them.
Our lives are but a blink in the grand sceme of things. But if we can bring a positive experience to those around us each day, we can make the most out of it. Some days we come up way short, but as long as we get up and keep trying to move forward, we can someday realize our dreams and goals.
Enjoy the Season! May it be filled with rippin' 'n tearin' great fun, and remember that someone out there REALLY, REALLY, REALLY LOVES YOU!

Gift Certificates
December 20th, 2009
November 2009. Good friends. Snowing an inch an hour!
If you are like me, you work best under pressure. I am way ahead of the curve Christmas shopping this year. If your looking for a unique gift for that someone who is hard to buy for, consider a trip Johnny Panthering. I am sure they will leave pleasantly surprised after a 3-5 hour boat tour through the Shiawassee National Wildlife Refuge and State Game Area.
Gift certificates are available, and tours are by reservation. Invision a horse drawn sleigh without looking at the rear end of a horse. Or wait till Spring and get out during high water at the peak of the migrations when things are still easier to spot. I am blessed to be able to share my "playground". For me every trip I take is like Christmas.
Merry Christmas!
Valentines weekend 2009. We were supposed to be racing a National but warm weather forced it to postpone. It is rare to get out into the Flats this time of year, we had a once in a lifetime adventure.
The 2009 Ice Race National Championship, I should have stayed out in the boat!
In The Mood(Spirit)
December 11th, 2009hot stove in the garage, wind chill below zero, putting up Christmas lights outside.... priceless! Looks like it will get above thirty in a few days, maybe a little Johnny Panthering might be in order. Soon they'll be riding on the ice. Another Michigan Winter. I live for this stuff.
Five minutes with Jake Marsack on Racer X!
Johnny Panthering with part of Team Garage on the Bad River November of '08. It snowed over an inch per hour for six hours before changing to freezing rain in our faces, all the way back, in the dark.
Dan Jannette leads Scott Parker on New Years Day 2009. Some of the best riders in the world were out for this one!
